PATRIOTIC FERVOR MARKS REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION AT ISD

The 70th Republic Day of India was celebrated in all its solemnity and fervor at Indian School Darsait. The function began with the National Anthem of India. Mr. Jaikish Pavithran, President, SMC and the Chief Guest on the occasion stated that it was this day the people of India were bestowed with constitutional rights. He reminded that the people got freedom to choose their leader whereas the leader has the liberty to rule the country within the framework of the constitution. He read out ‘the excerpts of the President of India’s message to the nation on the Eve of Republic Day’.

The key attractions of the day were a melodious group song by the students of primary section, sweet rendition of a couple of patriotic songs by students of senior section and a prize winning recitation of a Hindi poem “Khooni Hastakshar”. The programme culminated in a dance drama that instilled the noble ideals of patriotism, dedicated sacrifices of our soldiers, and unity in diversity. The cultural show filled every heart with pride for their glorious country.

The celebration was a remarkable one with colourful decorations making the school auditorium clad in tricolors and brim with patriotic ambience.

The day was marked by Unveiling the Winning Quotation of the Unique Teachers’ Day Contest by the Chief Guest and the felicitation of winners of a surprise contest organized by the SMC in connection with the Teachers’ Day Celebration 2018.

Principal, Dr. Sridevi P.Thashnath read out and explained the winning quote of Ms. Preethi V.Nair wherein she denoted the ideal teacher as a participant learner. The Second and third prize winners were Ms. Sreekala Manoharan and Ms. Bhavya Vijelesh respectively, while Ms. Beena Govind, Ms.Kala Siddharth and Mr. Saju Joseph were given consolation prizes.
