Class XII Graduation Ceremony

ISD Holds a Serene and Solemn Graduation Ceremony

Indian School Darsait organized the Class XII Graduation Ceremony 2023-24 on 5 February amidst pathos, reminiscences and showers of blessing. Mr. Nidheesh Kumar P. P., Director, Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman and Mr. Shalimar Moideen, Vice President and Head - Academic Subcommittee, School Management Committee, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour respectively.

Mr.Vijaya Saravanan Sankaran, the President, School Management Committee, attended the function along with the other members of the SMC: Mr. Vinodkumar K., Head - Staff Welfare and Grievances, and Parents Relations Subcommittees; Mr. Shaji Kaniyarattil, Head - Sports Subcommittee; Mr. Unnikrishnan M. A., Head - Infrastructure Subcommittee; Mr. Shebeer Shamsuddin, Head - Purchase and HSE Subcommittees; and Dr. Ashish Rastogi, Head - Centre of Excellence in Learning and Teaching.

The ceremony began with the Royal Anthem of Oman and the National Anthem of India followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and an invocation prayer. Mrs. Shamshad Hamza, Vice Principal (Senior Section) welcomed the dignitaries, invitees, parents, teachers and students. In his presidential address, Mr. Vijaya Saravanan Sankaran pointed out, “Learning is a continuous process, and it’s the hard work and dedication of the teachers that help in shaping the students to grow into responsible citizens of the country”. He urged the students to come back to ISD with their success stories. Thereafter, the class teachers proudly introduced their classes to the audience, while the outgoing students were conferred with mementos, graduation certificates and a certificates of excellence by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries.

Mr. Nidheesh Kumar P. P. called upon the students to be curious and inquisitive, creative and techno-wise.  Mr. Shalimar Moideen shared his ‘mantras’, namely, ‘sense of purpose, adaptability, building and nurturing humanity and dreaming big’. To bring home the idea of hard work, he shared a glimpse from the life story of Mr. K.R. Narayanan, the former President of India.

Mr. Amar Srivastava, the Principal, highlighted the values of honesty, hard work and humility. Representing the batch, Aby Jacob Varghese, the Head Boy, and Aysha Davood, the Head Girl, shared fond memories of school. As a token of their tribute, the outgoing students presented a gift to the school.

Mrs. Geeta Chauhan, the Vice Principal (Primary Section) proposed the vote of thanks. The event concluded with the outgoing students seeking the blessings of all present in the auditorium.
